Beryl Shoals Now Downloadable!

Kaitlyn asked for this one to be downloadable a while back, but things have been hectic around here and there’s been very little down time to do anything fun. Sorry for the wait and any hiccups there may be. There’s not a ton of CC for this one aside from store/expansion stuff. Everything I could remember is listed along with some little detail about it so you can decide whether you really need it. I’m sure I’ve probably forgotten some. Remember that Beryl Shoals is an uncharted island, and as such has to be discovered.

Hope this works. I’ve never done this before, so bear with me.

Coates

ALL PICS. LOOK AT ‘EM. { Opens new window.

House Information & Description:
This large mansion is home to the Coates family, affluent islanders ready to party.

  • Price: $? furnished / $? unfurnished (will fill in later)
  • Address: 15 Dolphin Lane
  • Size: 60×60
  • Rooms: 4 bed, 5 full/2 half bath, cinema, game room, formal dining, office, gym, laundry
  • Parking: 4 car garage, tons of parking in driveway.
  • Views out the windows show the landscaped yards, the ocean in the distance, and the surrounding neighborhood and hills.
  • On the first floor there’s a big foyer with ceiling leading to third floor. On the right are a therapist’s home office with waiting room and half. Straight ahead is the formal living room. To the left is the large kitchen with breakfast nook and sitting area. It has a hallway down to the in-house cinema room and is adjacent to the enclosed formal dining room.
  • On the second floor is a long hallway and an opening to downstairs. Looking at the stairs, to the left is the home gym. To the right is a long hallway with the two boys, Benny’s and Chase’s suites, which contain a small foyer, bedroom and full bath. Further is a small library and a tiny closet. Next is Yasmin’s suite with foyer, bedroom, full bath, and dressing room. At the end of the hall is the kid’s game room.
  • On the third floor is a hallway area with an opening to downstairs. The first door is to Loren and Joanne’s master suite with dressing room, full bath, and bedroom with seating areas in it. The second door is to the laundry room.
  • Inside the garage there’s space for 4 cars. The garage also houses the pool house, a two story section of the garage containing a foosball table downstairs and a sitting area and massage table upstairs.
  • Outside there is a big circle drive out front leading to the 3 car garage. In back, there’s a good sized yard, a fountain, a gigantic party area with huge pool (with its own island), an in-pool bar, a firepit, a big covered outdoor kitchen, lounge area, and outdoor living room w/ fireplace. There’s also a big pen for two dogs.
  • Loren: A/M, father, ceo somewhere
  • Joanne: A/F, mother, therapist (no real profession just pretending)
  • Yasmin: YA/F, child of both, spoiled elder kid of the family
  • Benny: YA/M, child of both, high achiever and student
  • Chase: YA/M, child of both, rebellious slacker

Notes:

  • This house is built completely from scratch. It was hard work but fun and I’m really pleased with it.
  • This house makes my already bogged down game run SO SLOW or I would probably have a gigantic party back here and lock all the doors so everyone had to enjoy the huge backyard.
  • If I do that, I should put a bathroom in the first floor of the pool house. I should do that anyway for convenience. No one wants to run through nearly the entire first floor and most of the second floor of an air conditioned house dripping with pool water to change or pee.
  • This house has a lot of little closets where odd spots ended up from building from the outside in. I should probably make one in the sharp corner between the dining room and breakfast nook.
  • The things on either side of the media center in the cinema are a fridge and a cabinet for snacks. The bookshelf is pretending to be a DVD shelf.
  • I love building multi-story openings but they’re a pain to photograph. I’m also not sure why the second story foyer windows decided halfway through that they didn’t want to display properly anymore.
  • I didn’t mean for Yasmin’s suite to be so much bigger than the boy’s but since it is I decided she’s just spoiled. Maybe she’s actually the oldest.
  • This family had a collie named Carpenter but because I accidentally walked away with autonomy off, I came back to everyone red and Carpenter taken away. 😦 I couldn’t readopt him for a while so I was going to cheat and take him in on another family then transfer him back to the Coates..es.. but I felt like the nice old couple I put him with would appreciate him more, probably.

Uncharged Island: Plunder Cove

House Information & Description:
This quaint little home has modern styling with more traditional furnishings.

  • Location: 64×64 lot on uncharted island Plunder Cove in Isla Paradisio.
  • Parking:  4 aquatic
  • Before Construction photo is here. Link is from here, I never think to take befores.
  • Views are of the surrounding islands and ocean.
  • Outside starts with a covered dock which has the mailbox, a sign that (I pretend) has the island name on it, space for a boat and 2 ski doos. It has a picnic table, bbq grill, and also a branch with space for lounge chairs. Down the path to the right (what I consider the back way of going to the house) is the water house with facilities and past that, an outdoor shower before arriving at the house. Down the path to the left of the dock is a private beach with a table and chairs. Past that and down small side paths are a hot tub and an observation/lounge area on top of the hill. Going down the path, if you ignore this smaller hill path, is the house and a fourth spot for a watercraft. This is where guests would probably park.
  • Inside the home is a nice living/dining room in a calming blue and wicker theme, a small half galley kitchen, a fairly girly bedroom and a small office.  The bedroom and livingroom have garage doors that fully open to let in the sea air. Inside the building down the path are the facilities and a washer.

MOAR PICS { Link opens a photobucket folder in a new window.

Notes:

  • Built from scratch.
  • There isn’t currently a family in this home.
  • This one started out with the house built right next to the beach area with a bright copper/orange roof then I realised how much of a giant eyesore it was to the Phyre Moon Beach Cottage and Hecker IP… so I moved it back and made the roof that pretty dark green color. Layout stayed the same.
  • This house is pretty small and I could’ve made the office into a bathroom, I suppose. It originally was a dressing room with only a connection to the bedroom. I think I need to replace the door going into the bedroom with the 1 tile version of the 2 tile door from the living to the bed room.
  • I like the outdoor shower but I could see it being inconvenient some days. There’s room.. I should move it into the water house with the toilet and laundry.. maybe move the whole house over to where the outdoor shower currently is and reclaim the current water house spot for a lounge area or..something. I don’t know.

This island home straddles a barrier island, commanding views of the surrounding water, the distant larger islands,  and the private side yard.

  • Views are of the surrounding islands and ocean.
  • Floor one has an entryway leading to both a large hallway with a good sized master suite and a guest room and to the open concept living area.
  • Floor two contains a massage room (or could be a guest room) and a dedicated guest room. There’s also a full bath and a laundry room.
  • Outside there’s a lush side yard with beehives and work shed, a large deck off the kitchen and living room, as well as a deck wrapped around the master suite and a small deck from the second story (mostly so doors can be opened to let the sea breeze in). To the side of the master suite and down the deck steps, there’s land with trees and plants ready for exploring and down the front main steps is a small private beach and dock.

Island House Prototype

The photos and post for this one are a bit erratic. This build wasn’t really finished.

House Information:
64 x 64 lot on an unnamed barrier island in Isla Paradisio.
2 aquatic parking spaces.

House Description:
This island home straddles a barrier island, commanding views of the surrounding water and the private side yard. There’s space for guests, as well.

  • Outside there’s a small private beach, a lush side yard (with an ill-fitting premade pool), and the master bedroom and dining/living room have doors that fully open up to allow sea breezes.
  • Notes: Built from scratch. I started building one house straddling an island, then realised there was another similar island and started building there as well. Then I realised they were very similar in layout. I ended up experimenting with this one then going on to make the other one better for the sims I was going to actually play.

MOAR PICS { Link opens a photobucket folder in a new window.

Notes:
Built from scratch. Quite a few of the screenshots have ceilings added with photoshop where there’s no floor above the room.

There’s also accidentally a little ASOIAF/GoT twincest crap going on around here..  When creating the family for this house. In my haste and laziness, I made him by just making a male twin of her.. then wasn’t thinking and made them married. Didn’t even remove the mermaid tattoo. Derp.

  • Nearby on this island is a resturaunt, small grocery store and bookstore.

MOAR PICS { Link opens a photobucket folder in a new window.

Notes:

  • I didn’t think to take before shots of the outside, but basically all the furniture was replaced and, while I originally planned to leave the floor plan alone, the front wall was bumped out a square (to make the new window there fit better) and the back deck bumped out a square, though that one might not have been necessary. A roof over the porch was added, windows were replaced, walls were recolored, new furni was added.
  • I really like the decor on this one, especially the living area and bedroom. Not a big fan of that particular color of cabinets in this one but I’m too lazy to go back and change it.
