Moon Elves (Slightly Throwback Thursday)

I’ll probably backdate this after a few days.

House Information & Description:
This little cottage perched on a hill has a perfect view of the sky for these purple people.

  • Location: Unknown sized lot on Sierra Tango St. in Sunset Valley.
  • Parking: 2 vehicle
  • Views are of the sky, the town and the surrounding hillside.
  • Floor one opens to a living space which leads into a tiny kitchen/dining room off of which are the garage and downstairs bath.
  • Floor two has a landing with desk and sitting area. There’s two bedrooms, one slightly larger than the other and a jack and jill bath between them.
  • Outside is a long driveway up to the house, a little patio, a small pool, and a fenced in back yard with fairy globe lights everywhere. The rear exterior of the home is covered in ivy.

Notes:

  • Built from scratch. I used to really like building on hills.
  • These aren’t truly supernatural sims. Genetically they’re just human. I really like their slightly lilac-skinned, moonkissed look, though. I no longer have them but have considered remaking them. Maybe in Moonlight Falls.

Family Update: Siar (Summer)

This is an update (added house) for a previously shown family/home.

The Siar family now have a vacation home.

House Location:
? x ? lot located in Sunset Valley on Recurve Beach.

House Contents:
5 rooms { master bedroom, living room, eat-in kitchen, full bath, kids bunk room.
3 parking spaces { house is on a beach but there’s 3 parking spots around the side.
5 sims { comfortable enough for 2 but big enough for 5 with a bunk room upstairs.

House Description:
This little brightly colored house is a great vacation home for a couple of sims that spend more time in the water than indoors.

  • Views outside show off the surrounding beach, ocean, and hills.
  • Floor one has a small front porch, and inside is the living room (with doors to the rear porch) and an eat-in kitchen. Down the hall is a full bathroom and a master bedroom with its own doors onto the back porch.
  • Floor two contains nice art and light fixtures with a bay window, a small seating/hang out area in front of the fish tank, and a room with three beds and a dresser for the (grown) children.
  • Outside is a covered pier and a secluded beach.

Starting out this house wasn’t really specifically for this family but I ended up having them buy it. The big downside is that it’s so far away from town and with no roads, its quite a hike to work/school.

Everyone got a whole new beachy wardrobe. The deck went through several phases. A Leisure Day party was also thrown and nearly half the town was invited.

A few of the rooms:

That’s about it. There’s a few more pics on the PB for this post.

Family Update: Siar (Winter)

This is an update for a previously shown family/home.

So, I finally got Seasons (and Island Paradise) back at the first of the year. It’s not bad. I wish it’d come with a neighborhood but that’s okay. I like the ice skating (and rollerblading), I just wish there was a bit more to it… such as some fancy duo spins instead of just the.. holding hands, knees bent spin sims do together, regardless of whether or not they both have maxed skills. Meh. The weather is really fun to deal with, but I had to immediately download something to make umbrellas less breakable, that was ridiculous.

Anyway, Siar is the family I keep going back to. That’s really saying something considering I usually make a family, build them a house, play them about 20 minutes then move on to the next house.
Everyone got new outerwear and Adaria’s clothes got swapped around a bit. I still can’t find the hair I used to use for her. The two adults (Sar and Saria, I’m not creative with names) mostly just build snowmen (including alien and reaper ones), the oldest ‘child’ Jaida ice skates, the youngest child, Adaria, snowboards, and the middle child and only male, Javi, does a bit of both.

Their house didn’t change much. I took out the silly enormous theater basement (see the original post’s photos) that was very rarely ever used and gave them a much smaller basement with a gym and showers. There’s still a secret room for the evil mastermind of the family, Saria.

That’s about it. There’s a few more pics on the PB for this post.

Notes:
Built from scratch using this tutorial. There are a lot of photos. For so few rooms this is a big hotel.

There are a few shots of a ‘previous version’ that was built and then lost because I’m still having saving loop issues when I use debug items. This also means the lighting isn’t as consistent here as I’d like it to be. It was supposed to be even more aquatic themed with giant corals and starfish everywhere… maybe huge strands of seaweed in the grand stairwell but since the debug category hates me.. well, that didn’t happen.

Notes:
Built from scratch.

I built this home as extra space for the older two children of the Siar household and it’s owned by the whole family. I mostly just wanted space for them to hang out. I’ve considered adding a second bedroom over the garage so they could both stay there, but that would change the architecture too much.

Apparently my thing is to take that fireplace and put windows on either side. I do like the brick and wood, though. I avoided windows on the left side of the house facing the bistro to keep a bit of privacy and placed a fanned plant in front of the window in the kitchen so it’s hard to see in but not as hard to see out.

Built from scratch. I like building on hillsides. I find it a nice challenge. Unfortunately I no longer have this home nor do I have the sims I made for it. I do remember that I liked them, though. The pets in this home were two dalmatians.

Modern Privacy; Siar

This is one of my favourite builds.

— At some point I need to go back and take good pics of the living room and kitchen now that I know how to free up the camera. Check back later. —

House Location: 30 x 40 lot located in Sunset Valley on Landgrab Ave.

House Description:
Nestled against a hill, almost at the end of the road, this modern home keeps its occupants sequestered behind fences and a (relatively) sparsely windowed facade, letting them enjoy privacy from the neighborhood. They also revel in the outdoors, even when inside, via large windows in the back and a windowed space above the center of the house as well as a couple of small, private patios.

  • Views unfortunately had to be sacrificed to enjoy such privacy. There are some views of the hills and plenty of the sky, but none of town or the beach.
  • Floor one starts with a small fenced in porch opening into the entrance, a smaller part of the large two story kitchen with giant windows up top to let in plenty of light and allow for star viewing at night. At the front of the house is a small hallway leading to the guest half bath as well as the son’s orange and grey themed suite. Past the kitchen are two small hallways, one leading to the two girl’s suites  and the other to the parent’s suite, which features a sea green, black, and white palette, a special window in the room with the bath tub, and a private patio of their own. Off the kitchen, there is a large living room, containing a platform upon which sits the furniture and fireplace, as well as bookshelves extending up to the second story and giant windows showing off the back yard.
  • Floor two is only an extension of the living room, with the bookshelves and fire place extending from down below. There is also a small balcony overlooking the back yard.
  • In the basement, leading down from the first floor, there is a three story theatre,  two balconies and a ground floor. Each balcony/floor of the theatre has a half bath or two. At the bottom of the screen is a somewhat hidden stairway down to a mysterious door, requiring a key code. Past the door is a long hallway, leading past more key entries and up stairs to a hidden intelligence room for use by the master thief in the family.
  • Outside, at the front of the house, is a tiny front yard and drive for the two older children’s cars. Off the girls’ hallway there is a small patio with a lounge chair and a fountain. Off the parents rooms is their private patio. Leading from the kitchen is the back yard containing a decent sized pool, fire pit, lounge chairs, bbq area, small grassy area, and lounging day bed.

Stylish Country Living; Leign O’Hare

This is one of my favourite builds.

Location: 64 x 64 lot located in Sunset Valley on Summer Hill Rd.

House Description:
Large and spacious enough for two professional room mates and their pets to live comfortably, this home is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of town while having a view of everything.

  • Views from this home include the town, gorgeous sunrises and sunsets over the ocean, and the surrounding mountains.
  • Floor one contains a small front porch, a good sized living room with fireplace and half bath, a dining room, a spacious kitchen complete with long counter/many stools for celeb chefs to show off to friends during parties or hosting in-home kitchen shows, and a good sized back deck (along with abundant outdoor space) for entertaining.
  • Floor two features two comfy bedrooms, each with a fireplace, a master suite, and a small office. Behind the fireplace of each bedroom is a stairwell leading down to each room’s own personal garage, nearly big enough for two cars each. Each stairwell has a small half bath. The section of the second floor hallway passing over the dining room below is just a bridge.
  • Floor three sports a large attic hang out area and two collection rooms.
  • Outside, there’s an abundance of open space for outdoor entertaining,  a barn large enough for two horses (with a loft area), and a big well equipped garden. There’s also a good sized deck off the kitchen for further country cooking happiness. This house would also have the chicken coop, had I had that item at the time.
